Christmas

Post  rosa on Sat Oct 03, 2009 1:52 pm

This is mostly addressed to my brothers and sisters,

I'm pretty sure you'll all agree that we should have our annual Christmas dinner; however, it's been a difficult financial year for everyone. So...my thoughts are that we should not exchange and/or give gifts going forward. I hope that I have not offended anyone by my suggestion/request, but I think it would be best for all concerned. Let me know what you think.

Forever yours, Rosa.

Sounds good to me and you know it sounds good to Reggie! Very Happy Christmas is about family and we have plenty of it that is all we need! Very Happy It can be expensive with the contineous growth of our family. We can pass out tamales for everyone to unwrap! Very Happy

Ok I Know This Makes Sense Financially And Bela Is Right It Is About Family, But Its Also About Traditions And It Will Be Sad To Lose A Tradition....

....So I Think It Would Be A Good Idea To Make New Ones!!! Instead Of Just All Coming Together To Eat, I Think It Would Be Nice If We Also Do Some Things That Could Take The Place Of The Giftgiving.

You Know, Like In Movies When Families Gather 'Round The Piano And Sing Christmas Carols Lol Or Read Stories, Ok I Know This Is Cheesy And Gay But Considering The Talent In Our Family, Musically And Otherwise, Something Like This Could Be Fun.

We Could Do Bake Offs, Some Crafts, Games, The Kids Could Perform Or Anything Christmas Themed Really And It Will Help Take All The Kids And Adults Minds Off Of The Presents/Giftgiving !

....................And I Want A Reason To Dress Up As An Elf!

Ok Bye!

I dont know what I mean lol!

I was just thinking since were gonna eat on Christmas Day and since we will all be together we chould do something else along with the dinner. Like how at easter we hunt eggs and christmas we open presents but since there wont be any present opening we chould come up with other things to do to replace it.

Anything really, I was just making suggestions.

Maybe each kid or each family could come up with something special or entertaining to present/show to the whole family.

Get the idea? Just something the kids can be a part of and even the adults.

Yes I get ya Ciarra, just something fun to take the place of gift giving. We can tell the kids this year their gifts will be to each other in the form of a poem, joke, song, play an instrument, do a magic trick, draw a picture, tell a story. Something like that. Very Happy
