TAMALES FOR CHRISTMAS

IT WAS AGREED THAT WE WOULD BE MAKING TAMALES FOR CHRISTMAS, WE HAVE NOT DETERMINED WHERE AND HOW WE WOULD GO ABOUT THIS. I SUGGEST WE( SISTERS-SISTER INLAWS & BROTHERS) ALL PITCH IN FOR THE COST OF TAMALES AND ALSO THAT THE GIRLS & WOMEN HELP MAKE THEM. IF ANYONE HAS ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS PLEASE LET US KNOW I AM JUST GOING BY WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT ON SATURDAY NIGHT.

Well, we made tamales last year at angie's, if angie is ok with that we can make them there. we will have to make them the weekend before christmas which is Dec 20, and everyone usually pitches in about 20 dollars. that is just for the tamales itself not extra stuff like drinks or paper plates & cups..i guess we can talk about it on thanksgiving...

That sounds good to me, if it is OK, with Angie, I will buy the paper cups, plates , drinks etc.

I talked to Angie today...she said we could use her house on the 20th. So the date is set.

Can we change the date that the Tamales are being made?

Brittny Wiese graduates on Friday, Dec. 19th, and her graduation dinner is on Saturday, Dec. 20th. She plans to invite the whole family to both events. She is aware that not everyone or maybe no one will be able to attend the graduation on the 19th, but maybe will be able to attend the dinner on the 20th. Her mother is making the final arrangements tomorrow reguarding the place and time. FYI: Chef Ray is cooking! ;D

We can change it to the weekend before. We just have to freeze them.

hmm, two weeks & 1/2 in the freezer, i don't know if that masa will get rotten, we never kept the tamales that long in the freezer, i know we have for a week..i don't know yall let me know...what yall want to do? i just don't want to be responsible for a whole lot of tamales to get wasted, because i know mom and dad had to throw some away because the masa got rotten...let me know

I'm with Shana, I too think that two weeks in the freezer will rotten the masa, plus they may not be as fresh after two weeks in the freezer. Just giving my opinion I will do whatever.

hmmm...what about the Friday night. Can we do it then?

Chowie called...she said not to worry about it, so we're keeping the date of the 20th for Tamale day. Maybe some of us can go to Brittany's dinner and then come back to work on tamales.

How do even know if we are invited!? Ray's cooking does sound great!! But I do want to help you guys since I didn't last year. Maybe I can do what Rosa said show face take her a little gift and of course shove my face!!!
